Self-healing has become a trend in Indonesia in this modern era. In everyday life, more and more people from various backgrounds are practicing self-healing for various reasons to overcome the conditions they are experiencing. Increased public awareness of health and mental disorders has also led to an increase in people seeking help. However, there are also some people who have simpler mental health issues, such as daily stress, and are looking for ways to heal themselves.

Linguistically, self-healing is defined as behavior that aims to heal or repair oneself. Scientifically, self-healing refers more to a process of recovery or healing that is usually caused by psychological disorders, trauma, and so on, whereby the recovery process is motivated and driven by the client or patient and is usually regulated by the individual's instincts.

There are four best self-healing techniques or methods that you can consider trying:

  1. Breathing Exercise

    Breathing exercises can be done in various ways to help relieve the effects of fight or flight, thereby minimizing anxiety and panic.

  2. Writing

    Another way to practice self-healing is to write regularly. Writing provides a medium for individuals to express their emotions, which can be a form of stress relief that supports self-healing.

  3. Meditation

    The next self-healing method is that if you have more free time, you can practice meditation/mindfulness as a form of self-healing.

  4. Self-talk and positive thinking

    In the context of self-healing, positive self-talk can play a role in guiding individuals to think more positively about the conditions they are experiencing or feeling.

    It may cross our minds that self-healing is something trivial. Although it sounds trivial and insignificant, self-healing practices have been proven to provide benefits for individuals who do them.

    The various benefits of practicing self-healing include helping to improve mood and well-being. In addition to affecting mood, self-healing also has positive effects on an individual's psychological state, such as reducing anxiety and panic and even helping to overcome depression.
